[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Dr. Suzanne Lagarde  was part of the distinguished panel of health professionals who gathered today at Planned Parenthood of Southern New England in New Haven to educate the public on the potential impact of the proposed new healthcare plan.

Dr. Lagarde lauded the partnership between Fair Haven and Planned Parenthood adding, “An attack to Planned Parenthood is an attack to our patients. A threat to them is a threat to all of us; it is a threat to community health centers.”

She was joined by (from L-R) Breast Surgeon Dr. Kristen Zarfos, New Haven Legal Assistance attorney Sheldon Toubman, U.S. Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, and Planned Parenthood of Southern New England President and CEO Judy Tabar. Dr. Lagarde is pictured far right.

If the current replacement plan succeeds, it is projected by the Congressional Budget Office that anywhere from 14-24 million Americans could be without healthcare coverage in the coming years. A key provision of the plan under discussion impacts women particularly hard, eliminating federal funding for Planned Parenthood and making significant cuts to Medicaid funding.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
