[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Luis Rios, a marriage and family therapist at the Fair Haven Community Health Center, was one of several medical professionals participating in the tribute to New Haven’s newest refugee population last night. In his presentation, Rios highlighted the challenges of those who may be suffering from PTSD after surviving Hurricane Maria. Hosted by Wilbur Cross High School, “A Night of Healing” featured musical performances, mental health counseling, and motivational speaking in honor of Hispanics displaced by recent natural disasters, who are now living, working, and going to school in New Haven. Our School-Based Health Center counselor, Cindy Avila, was also on hand to explain the range of behavioral health, medical and support services available to students at Wilbur Cross.
