On Monday, Connecticut’s Morning BuzzReporter Jillian Andrews welcomed Anabel Quiroz, the Clinical Manager for Intensive Outpatient Programming at Fair Haven Community Health Care in New Haven. They discussed a vital resource available for adolescents facing emotional and behavioral challenges: a specialized after-school outpatient program. This program offers comprehensive assessments, therapeutic structure, and group therapy three times a week for 8 to 12 weeks, designed to help teens build problem-solving and coping skills.

Anabel highlighted the program’s goals, which include improving relationships and social interactions, particularly within the school environment. She emphasized that the program is an excellent resource for adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, or recent major life stressors. Anabel also mentioned that referrals can be made by anyone, including family members, teachers, or healthcare providers. Watch the full interview above to learn more about the program.
