Receiving a prescription for a walk at a local park may seem like a strange thing to get from your health care provider. However, many health care researchers and practitioners say that nature therapy can not only ease anxiety and stress, but also help treat medical conditions such as obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes.

Our pediatric APRN Amanda DeCew and our family physician Dr. Hyung Paek were recently featured in an article about the benefits of nature therapy. They both routinely prescribe “walks in the park” or “playing basketball at a local court” to their patients and have seen tremendous results.
