Since 1995, each year on June 27 we observe National HIV Testing Day to bring awareness about HIV, how it is transmitted, who is at risk, the importance, testing, know their status, and get linked to care and treatment.

The theme for 2023 is “Take the Test & Take the Next Step,” putting emphasis on the different options a person can choose from to stay healthy. At Fair Haven Community Healthcare, we know that testing is the first step in HIV prevention. For the second consecutive year, on June 27th, we offered free HIV rapid testing to any of our patients or members of the community that wish to take the test, free of charge.

We also educated on some of the prevention services we provide in the clinic, such as PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), condoms and other sexual health services like testing for sexually transmitted infections, as well as the treatment options for those with a recent exposure to HIV with PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis), and those already diagnosed with HIV.
